Andy was so particular about what he wanted that I felt I had to go back 25 years and deliver the kind of modern contemporary spaces I was doing back then.
Which was not to put too much emphasis on my own style or to go to deep into the curvaceousness I’m now working on but to rather give him a clean, clear open space that I could see him work with.
He absolutely hated those rocks in the wall! Haha and his partner and four children appreciated them as much as I loved building those walls over them. Super unique I thought.
What really worked out so wonderfully here was that after all the bureaucracy with council permits around the verandah having to be non-combustible, the spa not to be built over a suer that’s 3 metres deep and all the nonsense of covid being observed, honoured and respected, these clients sold the house a year later to make a move closer to the beach which they had been wanting to do as a result of the lock down and the garden became the centre stage of the sale.
