This project came with some interesting challenges. Firstly, being built to the boundary required a fire permit so a brick wall was built beneath the deck to the neighbouring walls.

Then I had to work out the radius of the curve and have the steels rolled at Embleton Engineering.

Then the risers to the steps had to have the deck boards put through a thicknesser to drop them by half and then they sat in a steamer for a week before they became pliable enough to mount to the curved steel frame.

My mate Flo built the laundry cupboard for the client’s washer and drier.

Cladding the walls using tongue and groove Tassie Oak from Upton’s Timber in Campbellfield.
